Visit Request Management App

Overview

QinetiQ needed a centralized way to manage internal visit requests, track approvals, capture required visit details, and give requestors and approvers a clear dashboard experience. The organization needed more than a simple request form. The app had to support different user views, request statuses, search, approval tracking, visitor details, contact information, and compliance-related questions.

  • Email- and spreadsheet-based visit requests created compliance and visibility risk.
  • Requestors and approvers needed different views of the same data.
  • Visits required structured capture: dates, location, contacts, affiliates, classified/export-controlled flags.

Solution

MSPowerhouse built a custom Power Apps visit request dashboard connected to SharePoint and Microsoft 365 user data. The app allowed users to create new visit requests, search existing requests, and filter requests by status. Requestors could see their own requests, while approvers could see a broader set of requests for review.

The app included a structured form experience for creating, viewing, and editing requests. It captured visit dates, location, purpose, QinetiQ contacts, affiliate representatives, board or affiliate involvement, and classified/export-controlled information where applicable. The app also supported review actions, editing of submitted requests, and a dashboard-style card layout that made requests easy to navigate.
