Power Apps vulnerability scan reporting dashboard showing risk scores, vulnerability levels, and scan data

Overview

QinetiQ needed a structured app to manage vulnerability scan reporting across scan jobs and monthly reporting periods. The client needed a way to capture vulnerability counts, live IP counts, calculated scores, ratings, and historical scan results in a format that could be reviewed and maintained over time.

Challenge

  • Vulnerability data was hard to manage across manual files.
  • Needed consistent monthly capture of scan results and totals.
  • Raw counts didn't translate into a clear risk picture.

Solution

MSPowerhouse built a Power Apps vulnerability scan reporting tool connected to SharePoint lists for detailed scan results and total vulnerability scan results. The app displayed scan jobs with critical, high, medium, low, live IP, score, and rating fields. It supported monthly scan reporting, editing scan results, updating totals, resetting entries, and deleting scan records when needed.

The app also included scoring and rating logic so vulnerability results could be presented in a more meaningful way. Instead of only showing raw vulnerability counts, the app helped convert scan data into a risk-oriented summary using score and rating fields.

Technical Execution

  • Power Apps UI for scan jobs, monthly totals, and editing scan records.
  • SharePoint lists for detailed and total vulnerability results.
  • Scoring and rating logic to convert counts into risk summaries.
  • Reset and delete flows for ongoing record maintenance.

Outcome

The client received a centralized vulnerability scan reporting app that made security reporting more consistent and easier to manage. Monthly scan results could be entered, reviewed, updated, and summarized in one interface.

Impact

The app gave the client a more structured way to manage vulnerability reporting. It improved visibility into critical, high, medium, and low findings and helped translate technical scan data into a clearer risk picture for review and decision-making.
